William Panzer began collecting guitars years ago when he first started performing with local Oakland bands in the San Francisco Bay area. William Panzer is an attorney who works mostly on cannabis defense and general defense cases. William, also known as Bill Panzer, is a member of NORML. He promotes the legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational purposes. In fact, he coauthored Proposition 215 in California to legalize medical marijuana for those patients who had marijuana treatment approved by their doctors.

William Panzer owns an extensive collection of guitars because he currently plays in several bands including a Grateful Dead Cover band known as the Dreadful Grapes. The Grateful Dead formed in Palo Alto in the mid 1960s and originally consisted of Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron McKernan, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann. The band mixed different types of music to form their sound. These other types of music included mostly rock, folk, and bluegrass among others.
William Panzer has been a loyal “Deadhead” since the 60s and continues showing his support for the Grateful Dead band members by playing in Grateful Dead cover bands. Another band William Panzer is a member of is a local band called Stonetrout which plays at events and festivals in the area including events sponsored by NORML. Bill Panzer collects numerous guitars from the 60s and 70s, discovering his guitar collecting passion during his years of attending rock concerts and listening to rock music.
